Junior Kevin Fasick waved a loose tree branch over his head as he sprinted toward the fountain, where the rally came to close at almost 3 a.m.

"This is probably the most memorable night of my college career," said Fasick, chanting and cheering in unison with the rest of the crowd. "This is the same unity as after 9/11. Obama asked for it in his speech [tonight], and I think he got it."

Here what i think about the article.
A number of those guys cheering, and partying it up were veterans, who had served our country honorably in the war on terrorism. They deserved to have a celebration, and a drink on Bin Laden's head. A lot of those kids lost buddies in the war the last ten years...Something the "UDPD FREAKSHOW" would never understand.
This is just my opinion below but,
Now if the "UDPD FREAKSHOW" showed up and appeared at the parade on mainstreet, along with "FAT" and "SKINNY" of the "UDPD FREAKSHOW", and their buddy the KIDDIECOP, who got his job through his daddy the statecop from MD, with rin tin tin PANZER doggie, they may have gotten one of those ex-soldiers off in a corner, and picked on him. The "UDPD FREAKSHOW" would have isolated the Ex-U.S. Vet., and have taunted the ex-soldier. The "UDPD FREAKSHOW" would have agravated him, and then beaten him up, and then have charged him with a bunch of unnecessary things. Then said because he was a veteran, "that he was dangerous." THUGS!!! But that just the way the "UDPD FREAKSHOW" is and will always be. And then you will have journalists, and writers of newspapers like "JOSH" glorifying the "UDPD FREAKSHOW" never knowing what really happened, nor caring. But old Josh Shannon got a story, and that all that matters....
As long as you get a story, and sell papers, right Josh? Who give a dam what REALLY happens, right Josh?
Don't worry I am harmless, we wouldn't want anybody twisting things around to say otherwise...
In my opinion, The "UDPD FREAKSHOW" is simply a bunch of souvenir hunters, and grave robbers who are only after promotions, raises, and unearned medals. The only thing the "UDPD FREAKSHOW" is good at is smelling my underwear. But again this all just all my opinion. Thanks for allowing me to share my thought with the FREEPRESS of U of D. Thank God for FREEDOM of SPEECH and those who have served our country to keep it!!!
sincerely, Not Anti-cop, just Anti-stupid!

These people should feel ashamed. The celebratory nature of this gathering is appalling. It makes sense that the only ones that would do this are young college students who don't know the implications of their actions. It makes Americans look like morons. Way to turn this into a frat party. You should all be really proud of yourselves. To all those who forgot about what bin Laden had done and the victims of 9/11 until Sunday, stop acting like fake patriots. It's only Wednesday and these students don't care anymore.

Anonymous, maybe ex-statecop knows something??? Why would ex-statecop just make this stuff up? He/she makes sense to me. Maybe he/she is not right about everything, but he/she has a point. Ex-statecop has a right to voice his opinion. We do have freespeech here at U of D.

Dear Josh, Nora, and Lauren,
You should be focused on the article anonymous. Did I strike a cord??? DING DONG OSMA is dead. Now it's time to focus on the issues here at U of D. The mens track team is getting screwed and here is why.
There are two mid-level UDPD officers, they are from the same area. They grew up together. They are both in their thirties. One has a position called MASTER OFFICER POLICE OFFICER SGT. They are helping each other get raises, promotions, and medals. They are an Ole'boys network. How is it that a guy who is hired, that doesn't even have an associate degree, gets a doggie called PANZER bought for him, and then the UDPD buys him a NASCAR Dodge hemi charger worth 40k, and then pays the KIDDIECOP 40k along with raises, and then allow him to train 26 weeks with PANZER. I tell you why, the KIDDIECOP knows other UDPD at UD. How much do you think that cost? How about enough for two mens track teams. Why did they hire a guy like this, and give him wages, and benefits, that will exceed what any member of the track team earns when those boys graduate with their degrees. This is why. The MONKEY in blue, who had a doggie bought for him from Holland, who got raises this past year along with his annual salary, his daddy is a state cop in MD. They all knew each other from MD. The KIDDIECOP, who had the doggie bought for him, is about the same age as the two mid level UDPD officers. So your paying hundreds-of-thousands of dollars to guys, that had a social network at the UDPD, when some of that money could have gone to the boy's track team, who work hard, and will earn their degrees. How is that fair? It just my opinion but how is that fair Anonymous?
What do you think about that JOSH, NORA, and LAUREN. Why not hand the kiddiecop the same check, that was soppose to go to the boy's track team? Let him take the check and go drink with it, and run the U of D girls in town. He is doing that anyway with UD funds. It's too bad you are going to graduate soon Josh, you are a nice editor, and you have a nice heart. Why not stay at U of D and earn your M.A. here josh. But you know as well as I do, it's not right to give so much money to a guy who hasn't even earned his associates degree. He alone U of D is spending hundreds-of-thousands of U.D. dollars when the boys on the track team has worked os hard, and will earn their degrees. It's just another example of UDPD corruption. thank you for allowing me to express my opinion. I am glad FREESPEECH and the FREEDOM of the press is still exist on the U of D without any fear of retaliation. Thanks, exstatecop

Ex-statecop,
What does the track team have to do with Bin Laden's death? Oh right, nothing. Nobody cares about the track team so quit whining about things you know nothing about.

Why do college kids always have to find new ways to make fools out of themselves? This is embarrassing.

I hope this sense of "unity" can last more than a day. Undergrads at UD tend to have a short attention span.

Some UD students will find any way to turn a serious event into a joke. The death of Bi Laden should have been a chance to reflect upon the lives lost on 9/11, not an excuse for some to drink and yell out explicit chants. We should take the time to remember the people most of us forgot about, shortly after 9/11, with respect. Not one person interviewed for this story mentioned the victims of 9/11. Instead they reacted the same way radical protesters overseas would react to an American assassination; like a mob. The sudden excitement they now feel is understandable. A mass murderer and symbolic leader of Al Qaeda has finally been brought to justice. However, we must not celebrate with arrogance. We are much better than that.

It won't even take a whole week. The real reason they celebrated had nothing to do with bin Bin Laden--that was just the pretext. They were merely finding an excuse to get drunk and act like morons.

Now that Bin Laden is dead, now we can focus on a real problem here on campus. The Men's track team!
The Men's Track Team is getting screwed and here is why. Here is where the funds are going at U.D.
In the last year the UDPD RENT-A-COPS have bought: Two DOGs from Holland, two police sportcars, spending money to train the GOONS with the dogs, and have given the two GOONs raises with their annual salaries. This comes to a grand total of 200,000+ dollars. One of the doggie handlers, who named his doggie PANZER, has been working on his associates degree no less then 10 years. He is in his thirties. How did he get a job at U of D? This is how he got a job at the UDPD, the KIDDIECOP's daddy is a statecop, and the KIDDIECOP"s two buddies are mid level security guards at U.D.P.D All of them knew each other, and have grown up together. The KIDDIECOPS daddy was a state cop in MD, where the two mid level security guard grew up at, and both went to high school together. Now we know why the UDPD bought the KIDDIECOP a DOGGIE. During the day the KIDDIECOP gives the male students tickets, while at night, he goes out on the town drinking, and partying with the U of D girls. The girls at U of D are known as an unspoken FRINGE benefit in the UDPD. How is it that UDPD can spend 200,000k on two GOONs, one without a degree, and then turn around and cut the men's track team from existance??? I bet all the runner will earn their degrees, but do you think their daddys and buddies will get them nice little jobs with DOGGIES? The men's track team is getting a rotten deal. We are spending all this money on the MALLCOPS at U.D. and here we are cutting an U.D. team that has been around for years.
It's not fair. The crime rate at U.D. isn't that bad. It's MONKEYS in blue who are simply giving out more ticket in order to have us all think it getting worse at U.D. Their just manufacturing crime, and using the danger wild card in order to justify spending money on: corvette police cars, dogs from holland, swat teams, unnecessary raises, and promotions. What crock of B.S. sincerely Ex-statecop
