After three days of investigation, Newark Police have tentatively uncovered the identity of the young girl found alone in a South College Avenue Shell gas station restroom on Sunday afternoon.
Information about the girl is not being released due to an ongoing investigation surrounding the incident.
The child is in good health, police spokesman Lt. Brian Henry said.
The investigation has been turned over to Middlesex County, NJ authorities, Henry said.
The girl, who is believed to be approximately 2 years old, was temporarily placed with a foster family while police attempted to identify her. Photos and videos of the girl received national attention.
