The University of Delaware marching band will perform in Dublin's New Year's Day parade.

The University of Delaware Marching Band is in Ireland preparing to perform in Dublin's New Year's Day parade.

The band will join together with the University of Massachusetts Marching Band for the performance on Friday.

The two bands total more than 350 musicians, according to UDMB director Heidi Sarver, who is writing a blog during the trip.

Band members arrived in Ireland on Sunday and have been sightseeing when not rehearsing for the parade.

"Words cannot describe the beauty of the landscape in this part of the country," Sarver wrote on the blog.

The band will return to the United States Jan. 4.

Last  January, the band performed in the Inaugural Parade in Washington, D.C.
