Newark police are looking for a man they say broke into a house on North Chapel Street Thursday morning and climbed into bed with a female resident.
The victim awoke to see the man sleeping next to her at approximately 5:30 a.m., according to police spokesman Cpt. John Potts. The woman, who is in her 40s, screamed, and the intruder ran.
Potts said it appears the intruder entered the house through an unlocked door. Police searched the area, but could not find the suspect.
The victim was not injured, and nothing was taken from the house.
The intruder is described as a clean-shaven white man, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with a thin build and unkempt hair.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Det. Michael Watson at (302) 366-7110 ext. 133 or Michael.Watson@cj.state.de.us.
