Head to Head: Just a bump in the road
See Matt Gallo's opposing argument

Do not be alarmed by Delaware's first loss of the season, a 35-30 defeat at New Hampshire. The Hens were bound to lose at some point. To think the team was going to win every game is not realistic. The important factor is how the team will respond.
The beginning of the season started well for Delaware, as it had games with traditionally non-dominant football programs en route to its 5-0 start - including a 41-14 win over Division-II West Chester in week two.
Delaware has all of the tools to win a championship this year and it starts from the offensive line because those five protect the quarterback and running back.
Senior Greg Benson, sophomore Corey Nicholson and center Kheon Hendricks are all in their second year of starting, while seniors Mike Byrne and Rich Beverley are starting for their third-straight season. The experience and chemistry of these five continues to keep defenders off senior quarterback Joe Flacco. The linemen also add leadership to the offense because of their game experience. Beverley and Benson were redshirt freshmen on the 2003 championship team.
This year, the offensive line has only given up nine sacks through six games. Flacco has only thrown two interceptions, which is not just a tribute to his consistent play, but also because of the time he has in the pocket.
He has been massacring teams this year and will continue to do so as he has the poise and control to lead the offense in the right direction. Flacco has a 164.47 quarterback rating to go along with 1,752 yards passing and eight touchdowns.
Last season, Flacco completed 264 passes, the most in Delaware history in a single-season, and this year he looks even more impressive. He finished with 2,783 yards, placing him fourth in single-season yards at Delaware. Flacco is on pace for 3,212 yards this season, which would be the second time a Hens' quarterback eclipsed the 3,000-yard mark in a single season.
Flacco ranks first in the Colonial Athletic Association in yards per game (292), total yards (1,752) and completion percentage (73.8).
