More that 500 seniors and underclassmen gathered to be a part of the Senior Day festivities on Friday, which included prizes, face-painting and a live performance by Kristen and the Noise.

Senior Day was sponsored by the Student Government Association and the Student Centers Programming Advisory Board. The event was originally going be held on the North Green, but was moved to the Trabant University Center Multipurpose Room due to weather conditions.

In preparation for the event, the Student Government Organization and the Student Centers Programming Advisory Board, along with staff from student centers, dining services and alumni relations conducted several meetings about the event. The Senior Day committee researched activities students had enjoyed during previous Senior Days and implemented them into this year's program.

"The day was really awesome, I enjoyed myself a lot," senior Jacqueline Weidman said. It's upsetting it had to be inside and people were confined in a small space, but overall it was a good ending to my senior year."

Sophomore Grace Bennett, SGA special projects chairperson, thought the advertising was successful and attracted a lot of student attention. SGA was directly involved with contacting local businesses to donate prizes. These prizes included televisions, TiVo, DVD player and iPod Touch.

"I thought the day went well overall," she said. "All of the seniors enjoyed the prizes, it was successful."

The past two years, Senior Day has been held indoors due to poor weather conditions. Bennett hopes that next year it could be held on the North Green with many more prizes.

Junior Erin Gentzle said, "The music was fun and upbeat and caught my attention on my walk through Trabant."

Gentzle commented that it seemed like it was fun and hopes it can be held outside because that will only attract more people.

"I plan to come back my senior year as a topping to my college experience," she said.
