Fortunately, there are students at the university who are fully aware of the facts. I myself have been calling seniors and their parents for the past three years and can shed light on what has been done in the past six years with Senior Class Gifts and the money raised.

The senior classes of '02 and '03 raised $28,450 for the 9/11 Memorial Tribute, which is located across from the Morris Library. The class of '04 replaced the Linden trees on Old College with a total of $25,445 raised.

In 2005, the senior class voted to improve the Harrington Beach. They raised $47,000 and it is scheduled to begin during this coming summer once the major renovations are completed on the East Campus residence halls. Recently, the Harrington Beach has been fenced off to put in a synthetic turf.

The Class of 2006 voted to add campus clocks as their legacy. They raised more than $56,000 in gifts and thus far, one clock has been installed on Laird Campus. A second clock will be installed on East Campus, once all of the renovations are complete.

Most recently, the class of 2007 raised $62,000 for a wonderful legacy that will benefit students for years to come. The class of 2007 recycling fund is an ongoing project, which has been implemented thus far in the form of more user-friendly recycling receptacles at select residence halls, test paper recycling receptacles in George Read and development of a greater Web presence of the recycling fund.

Once all of these test implementations are completed, the most effective ones will be applied.
